Undertaken by Bhaktapur Municipality, Khwopa College was founded in 2001 AD, with an academic policy of accessing higher education to people of all economic and social strata. Khwopa College aims to provide the nation leaders with sound theoretical and practical knowledge, competence and skill. The college is affiliated to Tribhuvan University.

Hetauda Cement Industries LTD (HCIL), established in September 29, 1976 under Company Act 2021(BS), is an undertaking of HMG/Nepal. The plant has an annual production capacity of 260000 MT of Cement and was installed with a loan assistance from Asian Development Bank (ADB). It commenced its commercial production since December 1985.
